Short answer: Tick the booking-for-someone-else option in step two. Enter their address as the visit location and their name as the person at home, and keep your own mobile and email as the contact. All emails and the reschedule link come to you. Tell them the consultant's name the day before and, if you can, be there.
Step by step
- Enter your name, mobile and their postcode in step one.
- In step two, pick a slot, enter their street address, tick I'm booking for someone else and add their name.
- Place the $25 hold on your card in step three.
The confirmation, reminders and the consultant's name all come to your email. The consultant knows who to ask for at the door.
Making it comfortable
- Tell them in advance who is coming and roughly when.
- Clear a spot near a power point.
- Mention hearing, mobility or a health condition in the booking notes so the consultant can be considerate. Notes are shared only with the visiting consultant.
Consent
Only book for someone who has agreed to the visit. Consultants will not push, but a stranger at the door is still a stranger.
Questions people ask
Whose card is held?
The card you enter at booking. It is released when the consultant arrives, whoever answers the door.
Should I be there for the visit?
It helps, especially with the controls and any questions about price. If you cannot, ask a neighbour or friend to sit in.
Can my parent cancel it themselves?
The one-tap link goes to your email as the contact. Forward it to them if you would like them to manage it.
